Nevertheless, unlike other productive processes which generate remains and significant evidence, the study of the material remains of agricultural activity poses numerous problems for an archaeology which has developed out of an antiquarian tradition which has leaned more towards the study of monuments and living spaces, rather than an analysis of places of work. Despite this, there are some processes in the agricultural production cycle which, due to their characteristics, are more legible in material terms, and around which intense social action is organized. Specifically, the processes of processing and transforming cereals into flour, and the study of storage systems, constitute two of the processes which can be better detected and analysed.[ES] Este trabajo se centra en el análisis de los palacios, un elemento frecuente en el paisaje de la cuenca del Duero en los siglos X y XI, a través de los testimonios de la documentación escrita. A partir de una amplia encuesta, se observa la pluralidad de situaciones que se encubren bajo el mismo término: palacios regios asociados al ejercicio de un dominio «político», palacios del rey vinculados al control de propiedades, palacios de magnates y de pequeños señores. En todos los casos se trataba de edificaciones con una edilicia superior al resto, generalmente integradas en complejos patrimoniales más amplios. También se puede afirmar que los palacios ejercían una amplia diversidad de funciones (judiciales, políticas), aunque destaca su papel como centros desde los que se gestiona un patrimonio señorial, lo que incluye su carácter de puntos de centralización física de las rentas.
