Sumario:The study of patients who have suffered brain damage is an excellent methodology to investigate the human mind. Using such a methodology, in this paper we analyze the relationship between reading and writing; more specifically, between the grapheme-phoneme and the phoneme-grapheme routes. The results of an aphasic patient showed a significantly better reading than writing performance suggesting that both reading and writing routes are independent and require specific learning.
