Descripción
Sumario:[EN] A study is carried out on induced Fe-deficiency in fruit-trees. Fe as ferrous sulphate was injected into the trees and its effects were studied in the leaf system. Modifications in contents of total Fe, soluble Fe, chlorophyll, catalase activity and various mineral nutrients (K, Mg, P) are described. The striking influence of soluble Fe in the formation of chlorophyll is discussed. A close correlation between the synthesis of the catalase and that of the chlorophyll was found. K-metabolism is presumably connected with the synthesis of the chlorophyll molecule. The abnormalities in P-contents observed in clorotic leaves, are probably a consequence, and not a cause, of the chlorosis itself.
