Sumario:The focus of this research was to try to clear answers about the advantages of acquiring a second language. Along this research we run a study about possible benefits of studying/acquiring a second language. To reach this goal, we chose two groups of study. Group number 1(Bilingual/CLIL group) was a group 6 grade students who had been exposed to bilingual education since Kindergarten. Group number 2 (monolingual group) was a group of 6 grade students who had not been exposed to a bilingual education and their only contact with English language was through the English subject since Kindergarten. We tried to identify possible advantages in reading comprehension in L2 and better understanding and knowledge of the subject matter Science. We concluded that group 1 performed better at the reading comprehension task while group 2 performed better at the subject matter task.
