Sumario:[EN] The objective is to understand the management, ideology and culture in Latin American environmental film festivals. Therefore, the research is framed within the qualitative paradigm (hermeneutic phenomenology). Three environmental film festivals (4 actors) have been chosen to participate in the in-depth interviews, among them: International Film and Environment Festival of Mexico (Cinema Planeta), International Festival of Green Film and Video of Venezuela and Patagonia Eco Film Fest). The ideology of a film festival allows us to identify some environmental facts and/or movements that mark both the direction and the management. They are systems, forms of expression, opinions, ideas and thoughts applied as part of a history and culture (built and inherited) from regions, countries and/or states. It goes beyond giving an explanation. It seeks to know and understand some mysteries of the historical-cultural process (past, present and future).
