Sumario:[EN] We propose a notion of w-distance for fuzzy metric spaces, in the sense of Kramosil and Michalek, which allows us to obtain a characterization of complete fuzzy metric spaces via a suitable fixed point theorem that is proved here. Our main result provides a fuzzy counterpart of a renowned characterization of complete metric spaces due to Suzuki and Takahashi.
