Resumo:Alonso de Castillo Solórzano includes in his <i>Sagrario de Valencia</i> a compendium of seven stories of saints and blessed related to Valencia, including the brother Tomás de Villanueva. He confesses to have used the text written by Miguel Bartolomé Salón as a source, but nothing says about the <i>Epítome a la vida</i> of this Augustinian friar, written by Quevedo, which Solórzano is imitating in fact. The object of this article is to analyse this particular circumstance and the different ways of the rewriting of Castillo Solórzano
