Summary:This researching work studies the influence of the family tradition in the construction of the personal names in roman Spain with regard to the epigraphical sources of central Hispania (the valley of the river Duero) and its relationship with the romanization process. It analyzes thoroughly aspects as the namesakes and the repetition of the same name root in the identified families. Finally, it develops some guidelines for a study of personal names applicable to other groups of epigraphical sources In the West Roman Empire.
