| Summary: | An approach to monetary circulation in Besalú (Gerona, Cataluña) (second century B.C. to eighteenth century A.D.). Cataloguing, study and contextualisation of currency retrieved in archaeological digs. This article aims to acquaint readers with all the coins recovered in Besalú (Girona, Catalonia), mainly those found in archaeological digs. We shall try to establish a relationship between each coin and its archaeological context in order to gain an insight into the coinage circulation systems in the area. At the same time, the article is intended as a way of presenting a new catalogue of all the coinage from Besalú. It will be the first time that the pieces have been published together |
