Descripción
Sumario:A supercontinuum light source is a high power and broad spectrum source generated by the propagation of pulsed or continuous-wave laser emission in a nonlinear medium. The generation of supercontinuum in fibers and optical waveguides is a phenomenon of increasing interest that has found applications in various fields such as time-resolved spectroscopy, compression of ultrashort pulses, light sources for WDM systems, the metrology of optical frequencies and the optical coherence tomography. In this work we present the generation of a supercontinuum in optical fibers using a continuous-wave pump and a conventional fiber of telecommunication as non-linear medium.
