| Sumario: | Panoramic and comparative study of the conceptual metaphor of man under siege in Quevedo’s work. The study shows the central andstructuring role of this concept in Quevedo’s thought and poetic imagination, in a triple dimension: ideological and political, natural and cosmic, individual and metaphysical. The study focuses on the moral sonnet «I looked upon my native country’s walls» as representative of this philosophical and poetic worldview. The sonnet is read through its presence in modern and contemporary thought and literature. |
