| Sumario: | Herein, high performance and biobased waterborne pressure sensitive adhesives having the ability to be removed in water at short times and being tunable upon UV-light have been developed. The combination of two functional monomers, namely, an isosorbide derivative monomer and piperonyl methacrylate in PSA formulations containing 2-octyl acrylate (2OA) as main monomer provided strong and extensible adhesive films. Besides, the adhesive films can be post-treated by UV-irradiation enhancing cohesion of the adhesives, via crosslinking reactions between benzodixole groups, hence fine tuning their performance. The presence of low amounts of the sugar-based derivative monomer (1 wt%) promoted the removability in water of the PSA tapes, which was kept after the UV-light curing. |
