Sumario:The present paper analyses the status of serial verb constructions (SVC) in Ugaritic within the framework of a typological, dynamic, prototype-driven network of the SVC category. The authors demonstrate that in Ugaritic, SVCs form a reasonably robust category. When envisaged holistically, the Ugaritic SVC matches three types distinguished in the SVC dynamic network, which correspond to the three consecutive stages in the development of SVCs as postulated by linguistic typology: non-canonical, insufficiently cohesive SVCs; canonical SVCs; and non-canonical, excessively cohesive SVCs. The second type is the most prototypical in Ugaritic, being the most common and the most productive. Overall, the SVC category in Ugaritic seems to be a young category, and the Ugaritic language is a semi-advanced serializing language
