Descripción
Sumario:[eng] The fossil birds from the Upper Pliocene deposit of Cova de Ca Na Reia has been studied in this paper. All the recorded species are new to the Pliocene record from Eivissa, and a new species, Puffinus nestori n.sp., has been described. This new species is related to P. (p.) mauretanicus, but it was greater and had more robust bones. Its bill was specially strong. The presence of this species is considered as a paleornithological evidence of the presence of a high productivity marine front during the Upper Pliocene near the Eivissan coasts.
