| Summary: | Physical and sports activities have been identified by governments as a social priority. Likewise, the different organisations and territories have been the object of study to achieve a better understanding of their operating procedures. This research aims to analyze the opinion of sports managers about the management carried out in the province of Barcelona, as well as to identify possible ways of progress. The empirical work was carried out through qualitative interviews with a pre-established interview outline. The non-probabilistic and convenience sampling procedure, and following the redundancy criterion, resulted in 15 interviews with municipal sports managers. After analyzing the interviews, it has been possible to observe how municipal sports management is articulated in the territory, as well as the possible improvements to be developed in the near future. Such as the need for a greater use of sports management plans, the development of control and monitoring tools, the improvement in the fluidity of administrative processes, the increase in investment in sports infrastructure, as well as the regulation of the outdoor activities, the greater provision of aid to the most disadvantaged groups and collaboration with other areas of the council itself. |
