Resumo:The grain size, calcimetry and thin section studies, have been used to characterised the actual eolian sediment ofjandia isthmus. Nevertheless the application of the Rietveld method for the precise quantification of the X- ray diffractogrames was decisive tool to the determination of the sediments source area, as well as to be able to obtain a cartography of the mineral spatial distribution presents in the sediments
