Sumario:[EN] Ratios and equations between the wet fin weight and the body weights or size of the blue shark (Prionace glauca) were recorded from 768 observations carried out in two processing plants using landings of fresh specimens of this species with their fins attached. The mean ratios obtained between the complete set of wet fins and bodies were 5.88%, 7.33% y 14.16% for round weight, gutted weight and dressed weight, respectively. The whole caudal fin accounted for the largest proportion of the total weight of the fin set (44%), followed by the pectoral fins (35%),the first dorsal fin (9%), the pelvic fins (7%),while the anal fin and the second dorsal fin each represent approximately 2% of the total weight. The results were very similar to the findings of other studies conducted on board the pelagic longline vessels of the European fleet. Highly significant linear relationships were obtained between fin weight and body weight or size.
