Resumo:The work proposes an innovative solution in the field of environmental damage prevention based on the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility actions. The aim is to control the effects of environmental damage by making compliance with regulations compatible with other voluntary internal rules that make it possible to eliminate or reduce environmental risks and damage. The reciprocal interactions between Law and Corporate Responsibility are addressed, analysing the limits between the voluntary and the regulatory, coinciding with a period of growing importance of Corporate Responsibility practices in the business sphere. It identifies various issues which, from the field of Corporate Responsibility, have ended up being regulated in a compulsory manner by legal norms. Finally, specific proposals are made on the incorporation of environmental indicators as an ally in the achievement of public interest objectives.
