Descripción
Sumario:This article studies the singularities of labor intermediation in the pampas agriculture, in Argentina. It is analyzed how and why custom work constitutes a special way of labor intermediation between the dominant sectors of capital and the agricultural workers. The study of primary and secondary sources demonstrates that: a) most of the pampa’s agricultural production is concentrated by big capitals; b) these capitals appeal to the custom work system to organize the productive work; c) the predominant workforce in the custom work companies is waged; d) the relation between these big capitals and the waged workers is developed through custom work firms. Finally, there are analyzed the implications of this regime on the agricultural workers, in terms of labor control.
