| Resumo: | This study analyzes the Ecuadorian cinema films released in commercial cinemas during the years 2018, 2019 and 2020. A mixed methodology is applied with a quantitative, qualitative and historical research approach that allow the understanding of a political economy of the cinema and its effects caused by COVID - 19. The proposal of cinematographic genres is also examined with the consequent diversification in the current Ecuadorian cinema tapes. Finally, the insertion of films in streaming platforms is explored as an alternative to the traditional form of exhibition, allowing to know the objectives of the filmmakers to internationalize and seek the interest of different groups of spectators. |
