Summary:The physiological events that occur in the neonatal period influence the hemodynamic constants, which vary according to gestational age, weight and hours of life, and the method used. Analytical , prospective, qualitative study , Noninvasive hemodynamic status of the newborn was admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit of the Hospital Manuel Ygnacio Monteros city of Loja in the period July 2013 - January 2014. Vital signs , hematocrit , and urine output was determined at 24, 48, 72 hours of life and 1,2,3 and 4 weeks of postnatal age. A comparative analysis was performed internationally established tables . Of the 38 infants with gestational age between 32 and 41 weeks , 60.5 % had weight > 2500g , with a slight predominance of males with 65.8 %. The average blood pressure for newborns to 24 hours of life was 40.5 mmHg; 48h 44mmHg ; 42mmHg at 72h ; 46mmHg in the first week ; the second week and third week 45mmHg 43mmHg . The peripheral pulse, capillary refill and temperature were maintained within normal ranges . During the first 72 hours diuresis occurred 0.5 to 0.7 corresponding to the oliguric phase; hematocrit dropped at a rate of 4 to 9 points per week. The blood pressure was found to be a dependent variable of gestational age and birth weight , independent of sex, APGAR or the birth canal . The values of vital signs recorded in the patients studied are within normal parameters considered internationally . Keywords: Newborn, intensive care unit, hemodynamics.
