Sumario:Nowadays, companies require more agility in the decision making process. Therefore the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is necessary to generate a comprehensive vision of the company status, allowing real time visualization of all its management indicators in each process, and optimizing the management of enterprise resources. Within the range of business planning and strategies, one of the most effective tools is the ERP, which offers a number of options which makes it versatile and applicable to almost any kind of business sector. With a changing market as we have nowadays, and maintaining its attention on the development of new technologies, the industry has concentrated on improving its resource management. This overview seeks to carry out a systemic analysis on the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), which seeks to strengthen the integration and efficient standardization of all processes, in order to achieve resource planning consistent with the demands of any country, and to control direct and indirect costs which encompasses effective decisions for the benefit of the corporation, optimizing and continuously improving all its processes. This project was developed based on an oil service company, which started operations in 1980 and is globally positioned in approximately 50 countries. This has allowed this company to provide its services in all of the most important strategic markets of the world. This company has proven first-class patented technology; it also has trained personnel with the necessary experience to prevent or correct costly problems, such as loss of objectives or collisions with other wells in multiple well structures. It also provides its technologies to the Geo-Positioning Services, also in Conventional, Directional, Horizontal Drilling in Gas Fields, Oil, Mining, Geothermal, Construction and Reconditioning, and Workover operations. 9 Currently, the Petroleum industry is a market that is keen to big changes and uncertainties, therefore service companies must be more competitive and provide solutions to their business lines. ERP is a comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning that would contribute to good business practices with a view to optimizing all the processes.
