It was developed in correlation with the specific objectives: To establish the theoretical and methodological referents connected with the the Reading habits; to characteriz the actual state connected with the Reading habits at the students of the 7th seventh grade General Basic Education of the school; to select the most appropriate actions to improve the Reading habits; To develop an educative strategic to improve the Reading habits, at the students of 7th seventh grade General Basic Education; and; To value the effective Ness of the implementation of the stretegic to improve the Reading habits. In the process, were used the methods like; analytical, synthetic, inductive, deductive, modeling and statistical descriptive, which were implementedin the directobsevation and survey techniques; applied to the study population, consists by six teachersand (25) twenty four students of seventh grade. The results ndicative strategics to improve the Reading habits in the boys and girls to be educated in the school, and the same way they show interest by the Reading before the application of alternative strategics, that motivate and attract the attention of them

The results ndicative strategics to improve the Reading habits in the boys and girls to be educated in the school, and the same way they show interest by the Reading before the application of alternative strategics, that motivate and attract the attention of themEl presente trabajo de investigación denominado: Estrategia educativa para mejorar los hábitos de lectura en los Estudiantes de Séptimo Año de Educación General Básica, de la escuela “Buenos Aires” del barrio San Francisco, parroquia Lauro Guerrero, cantón Paltas provincia de Loja, año 2012 – 2013, tiene como objetivo general diseñar una estrategia educativa para mejorar los hábitos de lectura en los estudiantes de Séptimo Año de Educación General Básica de la escuela “Buenos Aires”. Referente a la metodología utilizada, es importante resaltar que la investigación es de tipo aplicada y de nivel descriptivo-explicativo, su diseño metodológico es no experimental, la población de estudio estuvo conformada por la totalidad del universo en razón que fue un grupo pequeño conformada por 6 docentes y 24 estudiantes de Séptimo Año, donde se aplicó técnicas de recolección de datos como encuesta y observación directa concretadas en instrumentos como: cuestionario estructurado y ficha de observación; se utilizaron los métodos: analítico sintético, inductivo deductivo, modelación y estadístico descriptivo.
