| Resumo: | The hospitals are consumers of important quantity of energy, for what developing a program of efficient use of energy will help to prepare a strategy to rationalize the demand and to optimize the distribution, and in turn to have better way the surpluses. The Hospital of IESS is an institution whose objective is to offer a covering of Health to its members, it has 120 beds and its construction has 20 years of operation. The costs to stay with this purpose are high and they worry to the authorities of the House of Health on the expenses that are carried out those of electricity especially, fuels and it dilutes. Of the consumption analysis in the energy payees' function was determined that the diesel 2 is the biggest consumer with 63%, and it is on that of electricity (32%) and gasoline with 5%. The plant of vapor uses in the boiler this fuel that is good for the combustion and therefore for the generation of vapor by means of thermal exchange, where you could appreciate that the facilities of transport suffer of flaws as non isolated pipes, and what is more serious isolations in not well state, this is translated in the limitless consumption that is not related with the demand of assisted patients and beds used per month. Of the evaluation of losses to the facilities of vapor, it was determined that these they reach a value of 576,41 USD for month or 6.916,92 annual USD that well they can be eliminated carrying out changes in the facilities whose investment this around 50.000 USD, that which would also impact in the contribution to the environmental against contamination for the work surplus that has the boiler to cover the demand of vapor, contamination due to the emanations of CO2 for the chimney of this generating machine of vapor. The recovery of the investment would be made to the 7 years, in function of a TIR of 37%. It is necessary to adopt a system that bears to a rational handling of vapor like the automation of purges as well as an appropriate instrumentation that will impact in the best control in the plant of vapor.
