Sumario:Local development will inevitably start from personal well-being, care for physical and mental health must be considered for making economic, social and environmental decisions. This research project was focused on sports culture in the parish, in order to identify strategies that help to promote sports habits in its population as well as enjoyment free time. The research report used a cross-sectional quantitative approach with an analytical scope. Likewise, an analysis of the environment was carried out through the application of a survey with closed questions and multiple choice directed to a sample of the inhabitants of San Buenaventura Parish. Regarding the study´s population, a sample frame was established according to the number of inhabitants, identifying a population of 1905 inhabitants with a confidence level of 95% and an error of 5%, resulting in a sample of 320 people; From this it could be concluded that 64.4% of its inhabitants do not know about sports culture and the benefits that it provides, another essential aspect is evidenced in almost half of the people who have some type of disease such as stress, obesity, blood pressure, diabetes, etc; It should be noted that 83.4% of the inhabitants would be willing to participate in programs that encourage recreational physical activities
