| Sumario: | The first initiatives about communication research in Latin America in Latin America are reflected in the studies of several Latin American authors that gave origin to currents that have been published in the studies made by CIESPAL, Center of Studies of Communication for America Latina. This paper deals with the epistemology of communication in Latin America, oriented to research from the proposal of the Ecuadorian Efendy Maldonado, doctor in communication, based in Brazil, which has been exposed in various forums conferences, seminars, scientific articles and especially in its book Epistemology of communication. Analysis of the Mattelart slope in Latin America. It is precisely the analysis of this book, complemented with annotations of the author thanks to her participation in conferences and seminars dictated by Maldonado on the epistemology of the communication, to which are added bibliographic resources used, the nucleus of this paper presented to its because it responds to the principle of replicability. The object of study of this essay is related to Mattelart's epistemological-theoretical-conceptual scheme aimed at constructing critical thinking that allows the investigation of communication from the knowledge and understanding of the societies in which we live in the South region. It is impossible to ignore the value of positivism, structuralism, the Palo Alto School or the Frankfurt School in the construction of critical theory in Latin America. But without a communication of their own, creative, educating, innovative, attempts at progress, inclusion of the various actors in society, without effective affirmative action, would be a chimera, an illusion without perspectives. Let us remember that communication is a transforming agent of human interaction, and therefore of social development. |
