Resumo:One of the most complex social problems that arouses the interest of different research disciplines around the world is sexual assault. East phenomenon generates a negative impact for its victims and provokes rejection by community. Several studies carried out on sexual crimes seek delve into the characteristics of the person who commits this type of act, identify their particularities in terms of personal and social aspects and possible illnesses or mental disorders. This work aims to describe the typologies of the sexual aggressor from a psycho-legal approach in its criminal activity, understand the way it operates, their preferences when selecting their victim and acting against them, the strategies it applies, the cognitive or biological processes that may be involved when executing their acts and the possibility that there are determining psychosocial factors in their behavior, which will help to understand how these individuals reach their target, the victim.
