Sumario:The present research work on "Healthy eating habits and school performance in children of the elementary sublevel of the Juan José Flores Educational Unit of the Chugchilán parish, Sigchos canton, Cotopaxi province", is developed by knowing that children and girls of this sublevel do not have good eating habits due to the socioeconomic factor and the school bar service that the educational institution has, consequently their performance is low, before this problem arises the need to improve school performance from the construction of a new culture food forged in the responsible home by parents and the educational institution, for this it is essential to be aware that an adequate diet will help to have the necessary energy to carry out the different activities in the classroom, for which the following objective is set " Design the plan of healthy eating habits to improve school performance of boys and girls of the elementary sub-level of the Juan José Flores Educational Unit”. The critical paradigm and the qualitative approach directed the present investigation, the scope of the investigation was exploratory and descriptive, the assumed theoretical method was the inductive one, two techniques were used: the interview and focus groups, the sample of 20 students of basic education elementary (second, third, fourth grade) and two teachers was under the non-probabilistic method. The main results obtained consisted of obtaining a Plan of healthy eating habits from the four laws of food and the SENC pyramid, with five daily meals using foods from the area and with higher consumption, which led to a significant improvement in health in the children. children and a better school performance of the students of the elementary sub-level of the Juan José Flores Educational Unit.
