| Sumario: | Psychomotor development during the first years of life evokes the levels of progress that the child has acquired to control his own body in harmony with what he thinks, feels and decides. Therefore, the stimulation of the psychomotor area benefits the integral development of the infant, however, within the educational context it facilitates the learning of academic skills such as reading and writing skills. In other words, the statement that the development of fine and gross motor skills predisposes to the correct learning of reading and writing in 1st grade children is theoretically supported.
