Sumario:One of the criticisms that has created the hottest debates throughout economic theory is the problem of the relationship between prices and the labor theory of value, known as transformation, but which is not limited only to it. A general criticism is from a dualistic approach between the real economy and the monetary economy (nomenclature hypothesis). However, the most current criticism, which goes beyond the previous perspective, is based on the theory of money ex ante to value. The responses to the critics are based on value-money ratio variables. This work analyzes these proposals, pointing out the main successes and limitations. Concluding that the debate shows a positive balance in favor of the theory of value - work, but where a theoretical framework is needed that can better explain money (monetary theory), to generalize the theory, since the applied study is fruitful, not so in a general theory.
