Sumario:ABSTRACT: The present investigation was developed with the main objective of developing a didactic proposal that contributes to recovering the cultural identity of national students who return to the country and join the educational system in the Totoras Bilingual Intercultural Unit. For which it is required to identify the factors that affect national students who return to the country and do not lose their cultural identity; In addition, the modifications and/or cultural changes that the students have adopted are established. The study has a mixed approach, it is non-experimental in design because the study variables are not directly manipulated, it is propositional-ethnographic, the objective is basic, cross-sectional, field and bibliographic. The population consisted of 8 parents, 21 students and 12 teachers from the Totoras Bilingual Intercultural Unit. The techniques for data collection were the survey and the interview, with their respective instruments, which allowed establishing that several students prefer other customs to their own, which demonstrates the little value they give to their culture. Among the main conclusions that were identified, it is stated that the cultural changes adopted by the students who return to the country and join the educational system determined through surveys were the lack of knowledge of the ethnic group to which they belong, not speaking in the native language They are ashamed to participate in the traditions of their community
