| Sumario: | ABSTRACT: The present investigation called “Disciplinary sanctions in the Riobamba Deprivation of Liberty Center and the right to personal integrity” addresses the procedure adopted within the aforementioned center and its relationship with the right that all human beings have to personal integrity and full respect for the rules of due process when issuing sanctions for disciplinary offenses committed by persons deprived of liberty, becoming evident that there is a violation of the aforementioned rights and principles described in the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador and in the related international standard, which affects the social rehabilitation of detainees and distances them from the purpose of their rehabilitation. It has also been established that it is urgent to achieve full respect for the set of guarantees that protect detained citizens subjected to the administration of justice, ensuring a straight, prompt and complete administration of justice, guaranteeing essential maxims such as freedom, legal security, due process, rationality and substantiation of administrative resolutions, taken within the center, in accordance with Law.
