Sumario:The author remembers, from his nostalgia for those absences that weigh upon us most, the context in which he did a long interview with Alfredo Pareja Diezcanseco at the end of the 1980's -which has been widely reviewed in the years sinca-. This article is a portrait which combines various facets of the intellectual and man that Pareja was; highlighting the discipline and temperament which became the driving force of this autodidact. Finally, it touches on the host of topies that interested Pareja, which encompassed a universe of literature and historvo The author's message is marked by its lucidity, nostalgia and affection, which breathes life ¡nto characters of 'flesh and blood', as well as the survivor of the Guayaquil Group that was Alfredo Pareja Diezcanseco.
