Descripción
Sumario:This paper analyzes the main issues that are part of the relation between Bolivia and Chile in the present century. The article invites to reflect about, in first place, the cases in the International Court of Justice (ICJ): the marine dispute and the waters of the Silala. Both subjectsare very sensitive in the bilateral agendaespecially;the bolivian claim to negotiate the access to the Pacific Ocean becauseinvolves a conflictive past related to sovereignty. Secondly, other issues are examined, such as bilateral trade; technical cooperation and cross-border migration. These have a relative impact in the bilateral contacts but offer the possibility for the Departments of Foreign Affairs to work in spaces of consensus and cooperation
