Descripción
Sumario:The solid desiccant cooling to supplement the cooling by conventional vapor compression air conditioning has been studied for typical hot and humid climate of the Ecuadorian Amazon. A solid desiccant cooling system for Ecuamz Laboratory of Research Center, Graduate and Amazon Conservation of the Amazon State University with cooling capacity of 10,2 kW, has been experimentally developed in a study project for the period air conditioning from February to April 2016. The influences of environmental conditions: temperature and humidity; relative to the coefficient of performance of the cooling system have been evaluated. Variations in the coefficient of performance have been obtained at temperatures of regeneration 100°C and 120°C; at speeds of rotation of the wheel silica gel of 5, 10 and 15 rph; and a rotation speeds heat exchanger 20 and 25 rpm. Experimental results demonstrate the suitability of this type of air conditioning systems for buildings in hot and humid climates.
