Sumario:This paper has been developed considering the special features that are present in the health system, particularly at the teaching level. Their specialization needs and continuous training favor the development of Personal Learning Environments (PLEs). This particularity allows the healthcare sector submit a case study of intervention design. To carry it out, the experience of Idcsalud and two of its referents: the Jimenez Diaz Foundation, university hospital at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid; and, Hospital Universitario Sagrado Corazón as a teaching center at the Universidad de Barcelona have been used. The interviews have had two objectives. On one hand, to determine whether PLEs can be applied in formal education contexts to create more open environments using the opportunities that ICT may offer, and if so how to do it. On the other hand, to identify the motivational means to make students act like professional content consumers (prosumers), so they can establish their own learning objectives and to persist in their achievements.
