Sumario:The growth and survival of the pullet carpet shell Venerupis corrugata (Gmelin, 1971) seeds in three suspended intermediate culture systems was compared using a stocking rate of 59 individuals cm-2 of initial density. Two passive flow systems (bivalve lanterns nets and oyster bags) and one forced flow system in air-lift drums were tested, in which a minimum water flow rate of 72 L min-1 was maintained. At the end of 114 days of culture, the active flow system showed better results in growth in weight at the lower level, and the bivalve lantern nets were more effective than the system with horizontal oyster bags. Mortality between samplings was low, except for the mortality recorded in the last sampling in the air-lift system at the upper level. The air-lift forced flow system is the most suitable for suspended intermediate culture of pullet carpet shell seed in locations where power supply is available.
