The World Health Organization states that the entire state of the human being is the optimal physical, mental and social well-being, despite existing legislation in Ecuador, the right to health is affected. Considering health as the set of basic goods necessary for the individual to develop his potentialities; the concepts of quality of life, dignity and health are correlated to give rise to an effective enjoyment of all other related rights. The special protection of the right to health to be adopted by States parties to conventions and treaties to ensure the prevention and treatmentof diseases of persons deprived of their liberty.La presente investigación, tiene como objetivo identificar la dignidad humana y el derecho a la salud de las personas privadas de libertad en los centros de rehabilitación social. Desde una visión donde se analicen la normativa nacional y los tratados internacionales que protegen a la persona privada de libertad, determinando en la doctrina el concepto de dignidad y el valor fundamental que posee para que todos los derechos se dignifiquen, en el conjunto de derechos que la persona privada de libertad posee, sin importar que su situación sea la privación de libertad. La Organización Mundial de la Salud manifiesta que el estado completo del ser humano es el bienestar óptimo físico, mental y social, pese a la legislación existente en Ecuador, se ve afectado el derecho a la salud. Considerando a la salud como el conjunto de bienes básicos necesarios para que el individuo desarrolle sus potencialidades; los conceptos de calidad de vida, dignidad, salud se correlacionan para desprender de esos derechos un efectivo goce de todos los demás derechos conexos.
