Sumario:This article is a theoretical work that constitutes a first piece of results of University Radio Station Project which has participation of teachers and researchers of the School of Journalism in Universidad Laica VICENTE ROCAFUERTE de Guayaquil. In this context, the project consists of implementing a University Radio Station to fundament its use as a key tool for journalism students in their knowledge process given the intent attached to every research university project. In order to get the results out in the public opinion the study and systematization of social communication theory has been essential but also the role of university radio stations, its characteristics, potential applications, its close relation to communities and a decisive bond with educational processes. Moreover, the study of pedagogy concepts and communicating competences has been very useful in this analysis. In that sense, the authors come to some conclusions among others the essential educational strategies being implemented from the radio stations, so that, college students and community can develop a consolidated vision that is inclusive, multicultural and identity igniting.
