description The objective of this research was: to design a proposal for a tourist route as an alternative for local development that would promote sustainable community tourism, by taking advantage of the potential of the natural and cultural heritage of the San José de Poaló Parish. To achieve the proposed objective, the qualitative methodology was used, which allowed making in-depth narrative records of the phenomena studied through participant observation and interviews whose information facilitated the description and interpretation of the social, cultural and political reality. This is a vision that makes it possible to achieve an effective contribution to the development of the tourist destination with a sustainability that ensures the future of the project and the quality of life of the people while better conserving their natural and cultural resources. The results show that the project's characteristics were viability and feasibility because the main resources and attractions based on environmental and ethnographic factors ensure its sustainability. The training and formation of tourist competencies will allow economic, social and cultural growth in the parish. That there is good planning for community tourism. The main axis of the management and implementation of this must be the local community, a vision that allows to achieve an effective contribution to the development of the tourist destination, with sustainability while better conserving its natural and cultural resources, for which it is necessary to carry out a socialization campaign throughout the parish to revalue its heritage identity.

Para la consecución del objetivo propuesto se utilizó la metodología cualitativa, ello permitió hacer registros narrativos en profundidad de los fenómenos estudiados mediante la observación participante y las entrevistas cuya información facilitó la descripción e interpretación de la realidad social, cultural y política. Esta es una visión que permite alcanzar una contribución efectiva al desarrollo del destino turístico con una sostenibilidad que asegura el futuro del proyecto y de la calidad de vida de las personas conservando de mejor manera sus recursos naturales y culturales. Los resultados demuestran que el proyecto tuvo como características la viabilidad y factibilidad porque los principales recursos y atractivos fundamentados en factores ambientales y etnográficos aseguran su sostenibilidad. La capacitación y formación de competencias turísticas permitirá en la parroquia el crecimiento económico, social y cultural. Que exista una buena planificación de turismo comunitario.
