| Resumo: | This research addresses the use of digital tools by amateur communicators, also called citizen journalists during the development of the riots of October 2019 in Guayaquil- Ecuador. The article explores the digital and communicational actions, fundamentally empirical, within central locations of the violent protests through a descriptive type of research. The informative generation in social networks and digital media of the referred social phenomenon will be analyzed in the light of decree 884 that established the state of exception and the freedoms that were suppressed and/or limited. A qualitative analytical methodology is used to analyze the importance of the informative contrast that existed on the same facts and the role played by social networks, audiovisual platforms, digital newspapers and blogs, as communication inputs. The data collection technique used was a survey of empirical-digital communicators and the use of digital tools. The results allowed us to determine that the shift of debate and attention towards the information received by non-traditional media and communicators, reveal an element of study around a new input that the perceiver has and that is useful to contrast with the information received from traditional media. |
