Sumario:The research carried out focuses on written communicative competence in eighth grade students of Basic General Education, due to its importance as part of effective communication, much needed in the current conditions of society. It is disturbing that being fundamental there are still deficiencies around the competition in question. Therefore, a proposal is proposed for its strengthening, which consists of the didactic strategy, which is based on the Doman method and is structured in six stages. Regarding the methodology, a qualitative approach is assumed that results in the description of the problem investigated, so that the diagnosis, theoretical references and the proposal are outlined. In order to determine the current state of the problem, observation, interview, and survey have been used. Applied on the one hand to teachers in different areas and to children subject to inquiry. The results obtained evidences problems in writing, spelling, in lexical and semantic fields, in terms of the objective of the text, coherence, connection between paragraphs, there are redundant ideas, among others. What justifies the elaboration of the proposal: "With paper and pen", which is intended to improve the formation of written communication competence and therefore, support the integral development of young people. Finally, the proposal has been valid through a socialization workshop and also under the user's criteria, demonstrating the feasibility for its application.
