| Sumario: | This work was carried out at the "Arnulfo Terán Delgado" Early Childhood Education Center of the Parish Barreiro, Canton Babahoyo, Province of Los Ríos. The research topic was “Game - work methodology and development and cognitive skills and abilities in students of the ‘Arnulfo Terán Delgado’ Early Childhood Education Center of the Parish Barreiro, Canton Babahoyo, Province of Los Ríos. in the academic year 2013 – 2014”, responding to the problem of the lack of recreational activities for children in the above mentioned center. To this end, a problem tree was developed around the negative situation and possible causes and effects of the causes were isolated. Extensive consultation was conducted in print media and on the Internet, looking for as much information from experts in the field. Later on, surveys were administered to teachers of Arnulfo Teran Delgado Center for initial Education, and the legal representatives of the children; and an observation sheet was applied to a sample of children The results showed that the teachers are pursuing early childhood education program, but too tight to The curricular plan; besides, they do not interact with them in games. Advantageously, they are willing to receive training and implementation of strategies, use of alternative materials and other strategies to improve their performance and achievements of children. As a solution it is proposed to develop a methodological guide and a selection of activities for the more effective application of the game-work methodology |
