Resumo:The present investigation approaches subjects mainly about the influence of changing the use of fuel oil in Wärtsila 18V32 engines to a dual mixture of fuel oil and natural gas. This change was produced at the beginning in the production group located at the generation plan in 12 block of Petroamazonas Eden Yuturi Field in 2014. In order to achieve this technology update, there was realized an initial bibliographic research about the conditioning management of this fuels inside the production processes, their chemical and energetic qualities, as well as following a validation process with specific fuel characteristic tests. In addition, there was realized an initial diagnosis of the Wärtsila Engine Performance, power, produced energy and fuel consumption to establish the comparative starting point toward to the registry of the same parameters once the update was conformed. As proposal to the problem observed, once that the benefits of this update of dual use of fuel oil and natural gas where exposed, theoretically and technically, is presented the estimated energetic production after the upgrade was implemented, with their respective feasibility analysis including upgrade expenses, mounting, installation, technical workers, engineering study and system maintenance costs.
