| Sumario: | The tourism potential is the ability that presents the resources of a locality to achieve tourist satisfaction to visitors, this potential is determined through an analysis that allows to recognize the intrinsic aspects of the attraction that give rise to develop a specific tourist modality. This research work was based on a descriptive methodology, with a direct observation approach, using as a field tool the Methodological guide of hierarchy and generation of tourist spaces in Ecuador, through which tourist attractions were evaluated using criteria of established valuation, with the application of percentage valuation ranges that allowed establishing the tourist potential of the area. For this purpose, the objective was to determine the tourism potential of the study area, in order to identify the attractions that have the greatest potential to frame them within a tourist modality. It was identified that the rural parishes of Uzhcurrumi and Casacay of canton Pasaje have a natural and landscape potential, in other words, that of the nine criteria of evaluation, two stand out, which are: the state of conservation and integration site / environment with 77,14 % and hygiene and tourist safety with 74.29%, a reality that allows us to visualize that the greatest tourist potential of the area is in the conservation of tourist attractions. However, there are barriers that condition local tourism development, such as: Limited study of demand, absence of human talent with professional skills that are working in the sector and limited accessibility to attractions. |
