Descripción
Sumario:This research was developed on the Zamora River High Sub-basin, located in the Southern Region of the Ecuador, between the provinces of Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, with the main objective to validate a hydrologic model that links precipitation-soil coverage-runoff to possible changes in coverage, using as main support tools GIS, software for hydrologic modeling and electronic sheets. The methodology used was divided into three parts, parallel to the three specific objectives. The first had to do with pluviometric information and analysis flows available to the area during the period of 1979 to 2014, taking a 36-year analysis period. The second included the generation of a hydrological model using the HEC-HMS software, both for long periods (30 days) and for short periods of time (5 days events). Finally sought a relationship between change of coverage and variation of flows modeled. This work aims to be framed within the project of search for ecological basis for the restoration of biodiversity and function of ecosystems in the Ecuadorian South Region, to potential global environmental changes, coordinated by the Directorate of Research of the Universidad Nacional de Loja.
