El objetivo de este artículo es generar un plan estratégico que incremente el índice verde urbano para proponer soluciones sustentables en el diseño de ciudades compactas tomando como caso de estudio El Empalme. Se utiliza el Proceso de Jerarquización Analítica (AHP) para priorizar propuestas de solución al problema del diseño de uso de áreas verdes en el cantón El Empalme.
