These vicissitudes sometimes distance the reader from a topic that would undoubtedly enrich his education, especially in the areas of constitutional law and legal philosophy. In this sense, there is a need for a text that allows the reader to approach a stage in the history of Germany characterized by the important legal contributions. A document with the aforementioned characteristics would be a starting point for a deeper reading. The general aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the Weimar Republic. As a particular objective, the main ideas of Rudolf Smend, Hermann Heller, Carl Schmitt, and Hans Kelsen are explained. The methods used are historical, deductive, and analytical. The present work is composed of three main sections. First, an introduction to the Weimar Republic is presented. Second, the main ideas of the proposals of the four jurists mentioned are explained. Finally, the conclusions are presented and the epistemological validity of the legal debates in Weimar is highlighted.Hasta ahora, los artículos que se han publicado en castellano sobre la República de Weimar adolecen de dos bemoles. Por una parte, abordan temas muy puntuales de este período histórico; por la otra, su redacción es demasiado densa o árida. Estas vicisitudes, en ocasiones, distancian al lector de un tópico que, sin duda alguna, enriquecería su formación, sobre todo en las áreas del derecho constitucional y filosofía jurídica. En ese sentido, es necesario un texto que, sin perder la profundidad, permita al lector aproximarse a una etapa de la historia de Alemania caracterizada por las importantes aportaciones jurídicas que en ella tuvieron lugar. Un documento con las características mencionadas sería un punto de partida para una lectura más profunda. Así, el objetivo general de este documento es ofrecer una captura panorámica sobre la República de Weimar. En tanto objetivo particular, son explicadas grosso modo las ideas principales de Rudolf Smend, Hermann Heller, Carl Schmitt y Hans Kelsen. Los métodos empleados en el desarrollo de este trabajo son el histórico, deductivo y analítico. El presente trabajo está compuesto por tres secciones principales. Primero, se presenta una introducción a la República de Weimar. Segundo, se explican las ideas principales de las propuestas de los cuatro juristas mencionados.
