While the Teodoro Maldonado Carbo Hospital is undergoing a process of intervention because they had found several anomalies that were detected when you start this process, in this respect it is feasible and appropriate to investigate the existence of critical points that interrupt normal execution of processes and threads that are derived from the catalog of hospital services, data collection techniques, such as the survey of users and managers interview and direct observation in the same place where the events were used. With the present investigation seeks mutual benefit, meanwhile, found solutions to the problems raised, beneficiaries may be, users, operating personnel and authorities.Como contribución al fortalecimiento del actual sistema de salud pública y como un aporte al campo de la investigación científica, nace el presente estudio, que se desarrolla en el Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo de la ciudad de Guayaquil, provincia del Guayas y tiene como finalidad la determinación de los nudos críticos operativos que alteran la imagen institucional. Si bien es cierto el Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo se encuentra atravesando por un proceso de intervención por cuanto se habían encontrado varías anomalías que fueron detectadas al iniciar con este proceso, en este sentido es factible y pertinente investigar la existencia de nudos críticos que interrumpen la normal ejecución de procesos y subprocesos que se derivan del catálogo de servicios del hospital, se utilizaron técnicas de recolección de información, tales como la encuesta aplicada a los usuarios y entrevista a directivos, así como la observación directa en el lugar mismo donde acontecen los hechos.
