Description
Summary:This article highlights the relationship between precariousness and the enrichment of business elites in Ecuador, between 2013 and 2019, from a relational perspective through the analytical framework proposed by Pérez Sáinz and Mora Salas (2008) on inequalities. This implies understanding precariousness as a mechanism that conditions the enrichment of elites. From this perspective, the regulation and institutionalization of the corporate capture of the State is also addressed, limiting or allowing it as an explanatory cause for the transformation of precariousness. For these purposes, a precariousness index was elaborated, using the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses of Ecuador; in addition, to measure the enrichment of the elites, the Base of Tax Formation and Behavior of the Economic Groups of the Internal Revenue Service was used.
